“Don’t Overlook Her: The Little Girl Still Waiting to Heal”
A Heartfelt Reflection from the Woman Who Survived IT All
IT Had 2 Happen™️
She was only five.
Too little to process the weight of death,
Too fragile to understand why her daddy had to go.
She just knew he was gone—and with him, a part of her went too.
The world saw a cute girl with bright eyes and quiet strength.
But they didn’t see the storm inside her—
The ache she carried like a shadow…
The empty chair at Daddy-Daughter Day…
The way she’d hold onto that stuffed bear like it was her lifeline.
Now she’s grown.
A woman. A mother. A fighter. A visionary.
But somewhere deep inside… that five-year-old girl still cries.
She shows up in moments of doubt.
In the fear of abandonment.
In the ache of loneliness, even in a crowded room.
In the tears that fall silently when no one’s watching.
The truth is, the woman you see today is still learning to love the little girl she used to be.
It Didn’t Break You. IT Had 2 Happen™️
That grief.
That abandonment.
That moment that changed everything…
It didn’t destroy you. It defined your journey.
It forced you to discover the God who stays.
The love that covers. The purpose that transforms pain.
What felt like rejection was redirection.
What felt like abandonment was actually preservation.
And what felt personal… was intentional.
IT Had 2 Happen™️.
IH2H Scriptures That Heal the Little Girl Within
Psalm 34:18 (NIV)
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Jeremiah 30:17 (NLT)
“I will give you back your health and heal your wounds,” says the Lord.
A Prayer for the Woman Still Carrying Her Inner Child
Dear Father,
Heal the parts of me that are still five years old—still hurting, still wondering, still reaching for my daddy. Show me how to comfort her, nurture her, and let her know she is not alone. Teach me to mother the little girl in me with grace, patience, and compassion. Thank You for walking with me through every stage of my story. Let me no longer bury her pain, but instead bring it to You to be redeemed. I declare that she is seen, safe, and whole again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
IH2H Affirmations for the Grown Woman and Her Inner Child
• I honor the little girl I used to be. She deserved more love—but she survived.
• I will not silence her tears. I will heal them.
• I am a woman of strength, but also a child of grace.
• I forgive what broke me and embrace what built me.
IH2H Reflection:
You don’t have to choose between being strong and being soft.
You can be a powerful woman and still need healing.
You can lead others and still ask God to lead you back to the broken places where your voice was lost.
Let today be the day you meet her again.
Not to shame her. Not to silence her.
But to say: “You are safe now. I’ve got you. And we’re healing—together.”
IH2H Question:
What would happen if you gave yourself permission to parent the little girl in you with the love you never received?
